Juno - (in English)
Juno (Latin: IVNO) was a major Roman goddess, who in Greek was called Hera, and was queen of the gods.
An ancient and central deity in Roman religion, Juno was the sister and wife of the ruler of the gods, Jupiter, and the mother of Hebe, Vulcan and Mars, one of the most important Roman deities.
She was also a member of the Capitoline Triad along with Jupiter and Minerva.

There is a strong possible etymology for Juno in the Indo-European root “yeu” (vital force), which has such derivatives as the English “youth” and the Hindi “yuva”.
Although such a derivation could possibly be consistent with an origin as a mother goddess, it is more likely that the root “yeu” is used in the same sense as other Latin words derived from it, such as iuvenis ("young man", with derivatives such as juvenile and rejuvenate), which would imply that Juno's nature prior to the syncretism of Greek and Roman mythology was more akin to Diana's, as a maiden goddess of birth or midwifery.

The usual incongraphy shows her with the features of a majestic matronly woman wearing a crown and usualy there is a peacock at her side which is her favorite pet.

My childhood friend Valérie is my model under the appearance of Juno, she is a general practitioner and a talentuous nutritionist travelling around the world in order to share her knowledge.

Dans la mythologie romaine, Junon (Latin: IVNO) est la reine des dieux et la reine du ciel.
Fille de Rhéa et de Saturne, elle est à la fois sœur et épouse de Jupiter.

Il est fortement possible d’une manière étymologique que son nom vienne du mot d’origine indo-européenne “yeu” qui signifie force vitale et qui a par la suite donné les mot anglais “youth” et hindi “yuva” (jeunesse).
Le sixième mois du calendrier romain aurait été nommé juin en son honneur par les Romains.

Un jour, un coucou tout mouillé vient se réfugier dans le sein blanc de Junon qui l'accueille. Mais l'oiseau, qui n'est autre que Jupiter, s'empresse de la violer. Junon a tellement honte qu'elle décide de l'épouser, pour le meilleur et surtout pour le pire.
Les querelles de Junon et de Jupiter ne sont, dit-on, qu'une allégorie : elles représentent les troubles, les perturbations de l'air ou du ciel. Ainsi, Junon serait l'image de l'atmosphère si souvent agitée, obscure et menaçante


Dans l’iconographie traditionnelle Junon est représentée avec les traits d’une matrone majestueuse quelquefois un sceptre à la main, ou une couronne radiale sur la tête et elle a auprès d'elle un paon, son oiseau favori.
Protectrice des femmes, elle symbolise le mariage lorsqu'elle est représentée recouverte de voiles de la tête aux pieds.

Mon amie d’enfance Valérie prend ici les traits de Junon, elle est en réalité un médecin generaliste et une talentueuse nutritioniste qui voyage à travers le monde pour faire partager son savoir.
